WOCAT dissemination products

The WOCAT project aims to disseminate its information about sustainable land management approaches and technologies to these target groups/levels:

policy level;
SLM specialists: agricultural advisors, researchers, ministries;
general public / land users.

This presentation gives examples of the different dissemination products WOCAT has developed for each group. It also outlines some of the basic principles (format, language fonts) that were used.

1. General

Desertification and civil society, a sort of a starting kit on desertification, containing 10 leaflets in three languages (CARI)
Information Packages for Civil Society Organisations, on desertification, on the Rio Conventions, etc, to explain more about the subject but also about the institutional and political context (BothENDS)

Drynet includes newsletters, policy papers and success stories among other features.

2. For technicians and farmers
AGRODOK series on small-scale agriculture, published by the Agromisa Foundation. The books are aimed at people who work directly with small-scale farmers.

Involving the Turkish media and stakeholders

As part of the DESIRE project, stakeholders and the media were contacted in connection with the Turkish study sites of Eskisehir and Karapinar.

Here we demonstrate the significant success (and some failures) in our dissemination of the aims, methods and products of the project.
