Soils

Very well drained, moderately deep soil (depth 45-65 cm) with a sand clay loamy texture on the Ap and Bw horizons. Fertility is characterized as moderate. The organic matter content is relatively low on the surface horizon (lower than 2.4%). Hydraulic conductivity of the surface horizon is moderate. When land is grazed under wet soil conditions, compaction of the soil by animal trampling favors high rates of overland water flow. There is no ground water.
