Local Scale

• Depletion of external and local resources of fresh water for agriculture. Old time constructed system of water harvesting and conservation (i.e. levees surrounding agricultural land territories for retain snow (with aim to prevent runoff of snow melted) water harvesting in wet/dry ponds for cropping, breading, using for cattle water place, fish breading and recreational purposes.
• Improper use of fresh water for local vegetable irrigation at home hood and cooperative farm levels is the consequence of lack of knowledge and skills of the use of water conservation and new irrigation technologies like drip irrigation, mulch etc.
