- The regular assessment of changes in the program context should be part of an on-going discussion about possible impacts and actual developments together with stakeholders. It deepens the understanding of the context dynamics, reveals the week parts, and at the same time indicates what activities to carry out next.
- Evaluation will be applied at a project's mid-term and at its end. Mid-term evaluation will be done at the end of 3th year when the project already will has some results, or/and to change planning after mid-term evaluation. The final evaluation will be done at the end of the project with aim to provide to the concerned stakeholders some learned lessons or/and some failures as well as to disseminate good practice results.
- Monitoring of socioeconomic improvements like crop pattern, yields, housing, marketing facilities and other indicators need to be collected and monitored.
- Periodic and repeated surveys will provide information on the project's impact and benefit. Beneficiary contact monitoring should be carried out routinely. For more actual data on income and crop production, individual farming records should be kept at key farms for monitoring uses.
- Land productivity is related to resources conservation, which is both a government and public concern. Farmers may deplete soil resources in order to make a living. However, a soil fertility check should be done by specialized survey agency.
- Project sustainability should be monitored by the number of farmers who participate in the project, their maintenance work, and the rates of adoption of new techniques/technologies.
- Close monitoring of development work like (of adopted recommended work would indicate higher sustainability as well as adoption of farmers adopting the recommended work (drip irrigation) would indicate higher sustainability. May be it would need some training needs as well as close coordination with other specialized agencies.
