Land users

There are three main types of land users in study area: on collective farms, small farms and owners of personal subsidiary plots. Most families living in rural areas have their own personal subsidiary plots, where they are growing vegetables for their own use and for selling on the small rural markets.

Collective farms generally have a machinery park, which for the entire district consists of 915 tractors, from these 377 for plugging; 214 cereal harvester; 35 forage harvesters; 289 ploughs; 491 seeders; and 325 cultivators. Professional training sessions are provided for the workers at this type of farms and in 2006 around 1500 workers received such professional training.

The number of small farms and owners of personal subsidiary plots with increased production is 8000 units. The percentage milk production for these land users is 51%, and 52% for meat and 45% for eggs.
