Major challenges of existing land resource management

The major land resource management challenges include:

• how to control overstocking and overgrazing in the communal grazing zone that has shrunk over the years and given the strong traditional attachment to livestock production;
• how to reduce over dependence on biomass for domestic energy supply;
• how to convince the people that human activities are as important as physical factors in driving land degradation.
