Annual rainfall and seasonality

About 350-400mm annual rainfall, single rainy season from October to March. The variability of the rainfall is 38% in the study area. Evaporation is up to 2000 mm annually. The risk of crop failure is high during recurrent droughts, unreliable rainfall (prolonged dry spells) and late onset of rains - all these are characteristic of this semi-arid climatic system.
