General Information

The Karapınar study site is located in the Great Konya Basin of south central Anatolia, 120 km east of the Konya city (Figure 1). It covers a rectangular surface of about 156 km². Within the study site area, a military restricted zone (ca. 40 km²) and an erosion control area (15 km²) also occur.

The only language used in communication (written and oral) among people is Turkish since the area historically comprises only Turkmen population.
