Strengths of existing land use practices

Soil and water conservation could decrease soil erosion and runoff and improve soil properties. The crop yields from terraces and dam land are much higher and stable than that of the sloping cropland. The yields from terraced land, dam land and paddy fields are 1752 kg/ha, 5181 kg/ha and 6060 kg/ha respectively.
