Major degradation issues due to the use of natural resources

The major degradation issue in the Yanhe River Basin is soil erosion that not only threatens soil fertility but also pollutes the rivers.

The sediment produced silts up the reservoirs and the riverbed. To flush 1 ton of the sediment into the sea 60 m³ water is needed from the Yellow River. It will make the water shortage worse.
